Can Your Choice of Dentists Help the Environment?
When we designed our office, we wanted it not only to maximize your comfort and relaxation but also to reflect our commitment to environmentally sound business practices.
As concerned citizens, we wanted to do our part in helping to maintain clean air and clean water. We looked at the materials traditionally used in dentistry, from mercury-filled amalgam, to the use of chemicals in the equipment that we use in the practice, to how we dispose of waste materials (including old mercury-amalgam fillings) that may be generated in the course of practicing dentistry.
We found there were ways in which we can make a difference, and we are pleased to not only offer you a high level of comfort, but also the assurance that we are trying to do our part for a cleaner environment. For example, we have implemented a special filtration system to reduce the impact of disposal of old mercury fillings. We also use a digital imaging system that replaces traditional film X-rays. This eliminates film processing chemicals and pollutants and dramatically reduces radiation exposure.
